Estéreo Picnic 2024 receives ICONTEC Carbon Neutral certification: A step towards a sustainable future

The power of music goes beyond the stage and the emotions it awakens in each one of us, it is also a tool to generate real changes in the world. At Páramo Impacta, we work every day to make the live entertainment industry a more sustainable and responsible sector for the planet. For this reason we are proud to announce that Estéreo Picnic 2024 receives the Carbon Neutral certificate, a recognition granted by ICONTEC that validates the efforts and actions we implement to mitigate our environmental impact.

The Colombian Institute of Technical Standards and Certification (ICONTEC), a non-profit organisation dedicated to overseeing compliance with national and international standards, certified that the 2024 edition of Un Mundo Distinto achieved carbon neutrality thanks to our multiple sustainable strategies. The recognition was presented by Martha Lucía Castro Rojas, ICONTEC's Director of Planning, Business Intelligence and Innovation, a milestone reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

Sustainable actions that lead us to achieve a certified carbon-neutral festival.

This certificate is the result of a series of initiatives we implement at each of our events to reduce our carbon footprint.

Some of the most noteworthy include:

• Use of renewable energies through solar panel farms.

• The integral use of waste for the production of biodiesel.

• Responsible waste collection and separation with the support of professional recyclers.

• Education and awareness campaigns by Ecoguardianes at each recycling point.

• Measurement and compensation of the carbon footprint through strategic alliances.

• Access to dry toilets for the care and responsible use of water.

• Implementation of reusable and compostable cups to reduce the use of single-use plastics.

• Planting trees before and after the festival.

Each of these actions demonstrates that it is possible to carry out large-scale events while minimising their impact on the environment.

More sustainability for Estereo Picnic 2025

We are not stopping here. For the 2025 edition of Festival Estéreo Picnic, we are raising our sustainability goals even higher, both inside and outside the festival. We want to not only maintain this standard but exceed our own environmental goals, accelerating our path towards a more responsible future.

Part of these efforts is reflected in the protection of Colombia's most vulnerable ecosystems. Páramo Impacta, in collaboration with different allies, works in the conservation of the forests, jungles and communities of Caquetá and the Amazon, as well as in the preservation of the Cundiboyaca moorlands, which are fundamental for water regulation and climate balance.

These actions are a reflection that music and sustainability can go hand in hand. We firmly believe that the planet is our only dance floor, every action counts to take care of it and protect it.
